as being our conscience, but God begins to do a work in us

and on us even in the process of him calling us to his work.

Central passage - John 16:8. “And when He (the Holy Spirit) is

come, He will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of

judgment.”

This phenomenon is sometimes accompanied by an acute sense of

guilt over wrongdoing, a sense of loneliness or estrangement from

God, or a sense of emptiness that we soon discover no earthly thing

or person can fill. At this point we realize all our efforts are not good

enough and we are not worthy in the eyes of God.

Thus the first step in the salvation process is to realize that you are

a sinner in need of God’s saving grace, Romans 3:23. Secondly, you

and hath given unto us the ministry of reconciliation.”

When a person becomes a Christian, the Holy Spirit imparts to

him or her new spirit which allows him or her to live a new life in

Jesus Christ. Not only does God promise us a new spirit to live

our lives on earth, but He also promises us eternal life with Him,

something the unbeliever will never experience, - Romans 6:23.

3. INDWELLING: THE STRENGTH TO LIVE

CENTRAL PASSAGE - ROMANS 8:9. “But ye are not in the flesh,

but in the spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now

if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His.”

The Holy Spirit takes residence within a person when he/she
