as being our conscience, but God begins to do a work in us
and on us even in the process of him calling us to his work.
Central passage - John 16:8. “And when He (the Holy Spirit) is

judgment.”
This phenomenon is sometimes accompanied by an acute sense of
guilt over wrongdoing, a sense of loneliness or estrangement from
God, or a sense of emptiness that we soon discover no earthly thing
or person can fill. At this point we realize all our efforts are not good
