Introduction:

Prayer is perhaps the most talked about but least utilized tool in

the Christian arsenal of faith. We all need prayer to sustain our

spiritual growth, yet many of struggle to pray on a consistent

basis. This lesson is designed to introduce new members to a

model of prayer that will lead to sustained spiritual growth.

The Importance of prayer

Jesus teachings us the importance of prayer by making it a

regular part of his daily routine. Mark 1:35 says, “Very early

in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the

house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”

This lets us know that Jesus, who was God incarnate, found

it necessary to begin his day with prayer. We as followers of

Christ should imitate this very important part of Christ’s life.
