place we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other

church of this faith, where we can carry out the spirit of this

SESSION 4:

HOWTOREADANDUNDERSTANDTHE BIBLE

Objectives:

• TO LEARN PRACTICAL TOOLS AND SKILLS FOR READING

AND UNDERSTANDING THE WORD OF GOD

• TO BECOME AWARE OF THE CONTEXT

AND CONTENT OF SCRIPTURE

Introduction:

The Bible is the central foundation in the life of a Believer.

It is through the Word of God that we learn what God

expects of His creation. It is through God’s Word that we

learn how to learn, love, and live life more abundantly.

Inductive Bible study consists of three parts, which we will look

at separately but will frequently overlap in practice. These three

parts are: Observation, Interpretation, and Application.

I. Observation

Observation answers the question: What does this passage

say? It is the foundation which must be laid if you want

to accurately interpret and apply God’s Word.
